Message about the Annual Conference and Monthly Meetings
3/21/2020
Members of the PA/LTC community:
Given the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), it now becomes necessary for us to make decisions to safeguard our professional community and to act as responsible and caring neighbors. To this end, the CMDA board has made the decision to cancel the upcoming CMDA Annual conference on April 24th.
We are considering rescheduling our annual conference for August of this year, if possible. We feel that it is our duty to leave the door open to hold a conference at a time when we all may need to come together as a community. The rescheduled conference depends on many factors, so we would appreciate everyone responding to a short two question survey to help us make a decision. You may request a link to the survey by emailing Dr. Eber.
The primary goal of CMDA is to promote education that balances scientific knowledge, pragmatic reasoning, and now, appropriate caution. While we navigate a path forward, we are committed to providing updates and offering advice on how to mount a preventative response to COVID-19. Given this, we will be continuing our monthly meetings solely via Zoom until such time as we all decide that in-person meetings are appropriate. We plan to reduce the time to one hour and have part of each meeting dedicated to COVID-19 updates with a Q&A to facilitate discussions within our community. We also feel it is important not to lose sight of what we do every day, and will therefore continue to present additional educational topics that are not COVID-19 related.
We hope to "see" you all at our next meeting, via Zoom, on April 7th, time to be announced later. See Zoom information on our website.
With Gratitude,
The CMDA Board
